Canada Post Labour Disruption

If a Canada Post labour disruption comes into effect this May, Scotia iTRADE® will not be able to use mail as a service, and sending and receiving mail will not be possible. 

In the event of a mail disruption  period, you can send documentation by courier, drop off at our Toronto Investor Centre (44 King Street West, Scotia Plaza, Lower Concourse), or at a Scotiabank branch near you.

Additionally, outgoing mail including but not limited to paper statements and confirms, notices related to Corporate Actions and cheques will not be mailed to you.

During this period, you are still responsible for monitoring your investments and acting accordingly.


Online & Mobile Banking:

Scotia iTRADE mobile and Scotia® online banking are free services that provide unlimited 24/7 access to all account information while giving you the ability to view recent transactions and transfer funds between accounts.


Paperless Documentation:

Paperless documentation is available for all Scotia iTRADE accounts and document types including tax documents, account statements, trade confirmations, and mutual fund prospectuses to help you stay on top of your accounts. 

To register for paperless delivery:

  • On the classic Scotia® online experience, go to Manage My Accounts from main menu and select Document Delivery.
  • On the new Scotia online experience, from the Home page, click on the icon in the left upper corner and select Profile and settings then select Settings, under Communication select  iTRADE and Wealth Management document delivery to Manage your document preferences.  

Transferring Funds, Withdrawals & Deposits 

To transfer, withdraw or deposit money into your account during the mail disruption, the following options are available to you:

  • Transfer funds electronically to a linked bank account through Scotia online or by calling Scotia iTRADE.
  • EFT-Electronic Funds Transfer
  • Bill payment from any bank account that you hold with another Canadian financial institution
  • Wire transfers from Scotiabank branches
